Children's Ministry

Bible preaching, teaching and singing are important for children as well as adults. Children's Church is an environment where young people are challenged by the Word of God on their level. It's also a place where children develop friendships with their peers and have opportunities to share their talents with one another, thus preparing them for "big church" in the years ahead.

The Nursery

The nursery is an often overlooked but vital part of the ministry. The sacrifice of nursery workers enables many to hear the Word of God and participate in worship with little or no distraction.

We open our nursery fifteen minutes prior to each service. Parents with infants are urged to take advantage of the nursery so that little ones will not distract those being ministered to in the service.

Harbor provides a clean and loving environment for infants.

harbor teens - Youth Ministry

Young people today face a gauntlet of temptations and decisions that can seem overwhelming if faced alone. Thankfully, God never intended us to face life alone.

Harbor Teens is a ministry of excitement, acceptance and excellence that seeks to transform and equip the next generation of God-seekers and servant leaders to impact their world now and in the future. Along the way, we have a lot of fun, make a lot of memories, share a lot of love, and grow together into life-long friends.

Our youth ministry offers regular activities, opportunities to serve, camps, conferences, and mission trips. Our teens are continually directed toward a personal relationship with Christ and serving Him with their whole heart.

College & Career Ministry

This ministry seeks to provide service opportunities for and to unmarried adults. The College and Career singles group reaches out to include single parents, mature singles, as well as college students.

The Singles Sunday School Class, regular fellowships, retreats and on-campus Bible studies all seek to encourage and challenge singles to be the best they can be for God. This ministry emphasizes the many exciting avenues and blessings that singlehood brings.

Harbor also sponsors Collegians for Christ, a student ministry on the campus of UNC Charlotte. It is through this ministry that we seek to reach lost students, encourage and train students at UNCC to deepen their walk with Christ, share their faith, and plug into worship and ministry in a local church.

Adults

We offer ministries for adults in all stages of life.  Our couple’s ministries entail a weekly Sunday School Class and quarterly “fireside chats” that focus on biblical principles that make a stable home. Harbor hosts a multi-day annual Couple's Retreat each February.  The retreats are located out of town, allowing couples time to focus on one another while fellowshipping with other couples. Breakout sessions for the retreat include separate sessions for men and women as well as group sessions, where couples learn about the principles found in God's Word to strengthen them as individuals and as a family unit.

Our Ladies' Ministry offers a weekly Saturday Bible study as well as numerous outings, activities and fellowships - all geared toward deepening our ladies' walk with Christ and connection with one another.

Bus Ministry

The Harbor Baptist Church Bus Ministry reaches out to local neighborhoods and communities in the city of Charlotte. Though primarily focused on witnessing to, teaching, and providing transportation for children, the ultimate goal of this ministry is to reach families with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Missions

Harbor Baptist Church has a heartbeat for world evangelism. We believe that "the mission of the church is missions." As outlined by the Great Commission, "missions" can be practically defined as, "the mandate given to every local church to evangelize, baptize, and train every human being on the planet."

Harbor supports more than 60 missionary families, projects, churches, and organizations on nearly every continent through faith-promise commitments and contributions from our members. Each year Harbor seeks to support new missionary families who present themselves to our church and others for financial support. The faithful giving of our members to missions is not used for facilities or salaries but only for world evangelism.

Harbor Baptist Church is currently involved in supporting missionaries around the world. If you are a missionary on deputation and would like Harbor Baptist Church to consider you for support, please send an email, which includes your testimony, field information, missions board, and sending church to harborbaptistmissions@gmail.comand specify in the subject line "support." We ask that you, please refrain from posting hard copy packets to our church unless absolutely necessary.
