CHURCH ON FIRE
On Saturday evening, May 24th, 2008, the Sanctuary, the Church Nurseries, and many of the Sunday School Classrooms of Harbor Baptist Church were ravaged by fire. The fire was caused by an electrical short which occurred in the basement of the Sanctuary.

As a church congregation we thank God that no one was injured as a result of the fire. We are also thankful for 80 to 100 brave fire fighters who came to battle the raging, four alarm fire.
Our church would like to thank all of those in our community who have prayed for and reached out to help our church in our time of need. Please continue to pray for our ministry as we go through the long and tedious process of rebuilding what has been destroyed.

Even though our two story auditorium and educational facility has been completely destroyed by this fire, our church continues to move forward for the glory of God. The Lord allowed us to complete a new Family Life Center in 2005 and we have been able to move our services to this facility without interruption. Even though our Sanctuary burned on Saturday night, we were able to hold both Sunday morning and Sunday evening services the very next day.

The fire in our Sanctuary was put out early in the morning on May 25th, but the fire that is in our hearts for the things of God continues to burn brightly.
